Mr Norris – Principal

We will help you to make lots of new friends, to build your confidence and to make excellent progress in your learning. We will look after you and help you with any struggles you may have. Welcome to Team Weldon! I’m really looking forward to meeting you and building our team of Caring, Curious and Committed learners. Our aim is to make your secondary school journey as easy and as exciting as possible for you. Being the first students in a new school is going to give you a unique opportunity to help us build the school you want, I’m certain lots of you will be up for the challenge and make our school the very best it can be!

A warm welcome to Weldon Village Academy and congratulations on being the first students at this brand new school! Starting a new school will no doubt bring a whole host of feelings. You may feel excited, lonely, nervous, apprehensive, curious, all of the above, or just fine. Just remember, we are all in this together! Welcome to you all, just like you I will be new to Weldon Village Academy with all the excitement and questions that you get when starting somewhere new. I know that there will be lots to figure out and to get familiar with but it’s a journey we will navigate together.
We will build up our confidence with our new surroundings and enjoy the experiences that we share over the fore coming year. Together we will establish a welcoming environment in which everyone’s ideas are valued and celebrated. Your presence enriches our classroom community, and I look forward to getting to know every one of you. I am Miss Conlon and I teach PE and you will see me around the school covering other lessons. I am excited to meet you all, and to see if we have any sporting stars of the future!
Mrs Downs – S-MDO Form Tutor & Teacher of History
I’m delighted to be joining the school at the same time as you all. At least we’ll all be in the same boat in asking for directions for the first few weeks! I’m hoping that lots of you are budding Historians as History is my subject, having taught it for 10 years now. Hello, my name is Miss Herman. I am super excited to join the team at Weldon from September this year. I am new to the school, so just like Year 7 when they ask for directions, I may also need a little help too. I am passionate about English, and my goal is to help every student achieve their full potential. My classroom is a fun, inspiring and safe space where all ideas are appreciated. I look forward to sharing my love for the subject and welcoming you into my classroom.
Mr Ikemefuna – T-VIK Form Tutor & Teacher of Maths and ICT
My name is Mr Ikemefuna and I’m delighted to be joining Weldon Village Academy next term as a Maths teacher. I look forward to becoming an integral part of the school community to support the holistic development of our pupils.

I am Mr. King, and I am thrilled to join your school community at Weldon Village Academy as one of your new Art and Design teachers. Art and Design has always been my passion, and I am eager to share my enthusiasm and knowledge with all of you. Together, we will explore the vast world of creativity, from the fundamentals of drawing and painting to innovative design and digital art. Miss Lodge – A-CLO Form Tutor & Teacher of English and History
As an English teacher originally from Derbyshire; I’m an avid reader; you can usually find me with a book in hand and I’m always looking for new recommendations! I like to spend lots of time outdoors possibly due to growing up in the beautiful Peak District and when I’m feeling stressed nothing is better than a long walk with my friends or family. I love to travel and experience new places and cultures; my goal is to visit every continent. I’m extremely excited to be part of the WVA community and look forward to welcoming you into my classroom.
Miss Mills – Teaching Assistant
Hello, my name is Miss Mills and it is my first year here in the role of a Teaching Assistant. I absolutely love being part of this amazing new school and a great team and helping students of Year 7 and 8 at different subjects.
Mrs Swailes – T-RSW Form Tutor & Teacher of Music and Maths
I have been a Secondary school Music teacher in Northamptonshire for 18 years now. I have also been teaching some Maths for the last 5 years. My main instruments are recorder, clarinet and saxophone but have really enjoyed learning new instruments over the years such as the Ukulele. I really enjoy all aspects of my job from my classroom teaching to running extra-curricular groups such as Choirs, Bands and I love a Musical! I look forward to meeting you and working with you all to develop those Mathematical and Musical skills.
