Please see the document for the process to apply for a place in Year 10 for September 2025
As an Academy, the Academy Council is responsible for establishing the Admission Criteria and oversubscription criteria for the Academy; the Academy Council agreed to follow the admissions and oversubscription criteria set by the Local Authority (LA). These criteria have not been changed by the Academy Council following the establishment of the Academy. The responsibility for the administration of the Admissions process will be the Local Authority for 2025.
The published Pupil Admission Number (PAN) is 240 students. However, for entry into Year 7 for 2025/26 our intake is a maximum PAN of 150 for this cohort. There are currently awaiting lists for all year groups.
The PAN for 2026/27 is currently set at 150.

How to apply
Admissions to the Academy for year 7 only are managed by the North Northants Local Authority as part of the usual process for all secondary schools in the area.
The school only manages its own admissions for mid-year transfers and admission to any other year group, except year 7.
The Admissions Policy can be found on our Policy page, please ensure you select the correct version for the year of intake.
Transition
To prepare Year 6 children for transfer to Weldon Village Academy a transition programme will be provided.
We are pleased to announce that our Year 6 Move Up Day will take place on Friday 10th July 2026
On entry to the Academy each student will be placed in a House and tutor group. Tutor groups will eventually be based on a vertical system. Initially Tutor groups will consist of a maximum of 20-25 students and provide a point of contact each morning for every individual with their Tutor. Each Tutor will be given an hour week of tutorial time to meet with individual students 1:1 at least once per half term. This will maximise the academic guidance and pastoral support that individual students will receive. Teaching groups will of course be based on the usual year system. Placement of students will depend upon primary school guidance.
The tutor-student relationship will focus on the individual and have a strong emphasis on raising academic achievement and taking full benefit of the opportunities that the school has to offer. We strongly believe that all students are of equal worth and we have a responsibility to meet their individual needs.
We very much look forward to receiving your child at Weldon Village Academy.
Details of the Travel Plan, as set out by Bam Construction Ltd as part of the detailed application for the building of the new Academy can be viewed on the following
